Harvest Moon is a time to enjoy the autumnal equinox and the bountiful fall season! During September each year the Harvest Moon has the effect of illuminating the landscape in rich fall hues making it appear brighter, and more colorful!

We will have four segments offered at this retreat; you can choose to work on one project exclusively or get involved on as many as you like!

1. Megadream Bag

Learn to sew with cork, and install perfect zippers!

2. Harvest Moon Blocks- color and construction tips. Based on the Summer Moon book by Carrie Nelson.

3. Figtree Sugar Pumpkins

4. Porch Stitching- Meg Hawkey of Crabapple Hill has designed some fab and fun Fall designs for us to stitch to our hearts content. Also a fun intro to crossstitch- kit included.

Sarah Gozzo will be teaching the bag making segments, and Erica Ericsson will be leading the Harvest Moon and Stitching segments. Check out Sarah’s page on Instagram for her delightful and creative bounty!

The retreat will begin with a reception with Corey and a trunk show of Corey’s beautiful quilts on July 23rd at 5 PM.

Sewing space setup will commence 7PM on July 23rd, and the sewing area will be open to us till 11:00 each night. The 24th and 25th Corey will be presenting basically 9AM to 4PM, and on the 26th we will meet from 8AM-12 noon.

Our meeting room will allow each attendee an individual sewing station, and tables will be set in groups for sharing and meeting new friends.

Cutting and ironing stations will be provided. There will be ample overhead light but bring your table lamp if you think you might want more direct light. A detailed supply list is sent out three months prior to our event.

Retreat will include lunch on the 24th and 25th, and light brunch on the 25th. Also, fabulous goody bags and giveaways, as well as hands on tutorials with Corey! She is an excellent and very approachable instructor. We have had a great experience with her at previous retreats! I’m excited for all of us!

Lodging reservations in our block are at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville Tennessee. A link will be provided upon registration to access our discounted room block.

Sunday and Monday, April 5th & 6th 8A-11P and and Tuesday April 7th 8A - Noon we will have classroom time in the light filled Laviana Room with french doors that open to a beautiful outdoor patio. All group events to be held in the Laviana Room.

Joanna will share her many tips and tricks regarding color theory, piecing, and block placement so that you may create your own versions of classic quilts. A special project or two are planned, some surprise swag, as well as independent sewing time.

Retreat will include classroom time with Joanna, with special projects and kits available, including a Figgy Pop Up Shop, extended studio time, Lunch on the Laviana Patio on 4/5 & 4/6, and Aviara Resort concessions at value pricing and access to our value room block pricing. Breakfast and Dinner at your leisure.

Quiltersrevival will provide top level cutting and ironing stations with Flatter scented sprays, as well as rotary cutters and larger rulers. We also offer a 15% discount promo code from Fat Quarter Shop. This will be provided 2 months prior to retreat.

We are beyond fortunate to have Carrie come to teach us with skill and humor!
